Bridgestone Select has opened a new store in Christchurch that combines retail and mechanical services in its unique automotive store model.

The store, located in Middleton, is the company’s 24th store nationwide, offering a complete one stop shop for customers.

Greg Neville said that the new store model was developed after seeing the opportunity to offer automotive servicing and repair in the tyre stores, providing a convenient option for customers.

“We considered what other international markets were doing and developed our own tyre and automotive model – the Bridgestone Select store. This involved a refurbishment of the store including customer facilities and a competitive automotive offer that didn’t compromise quality. We rolled out this model in 24 of our own metro stores and fine-tuned it before offering it to our dealer network,” he said.

The Birmingham Drive Bridgestone Select is the second dealer store to have the new model.

Paul Price, Bridgestone Select owner/director, said the combined model enables the business to take on retail tyre capability in a more serious capacity, while providing mechanical and servicing needs, and all in a single venue.

“From a business point of view, this new store means no business turned away and that’s hugely attractive for growth,” he said.
