Hallenstein Glassons has appointed board director Mary Devine to take on the role of managing director effective April 1.

Devine, who will take over the retailer’s reins after company chief executive Mark Goddard left last month, has been tasked with continuing the development of Hallenstein’s executive team and building on the business’s strategic initiatives.

She joined the Hallenstein Glasson board in July 2018 after an extensive retail career as managing director of Christchurch department store Ballantyne & Co and as CEO of direct-to-consumer retailer EziBuy.

Earlier in her career, she gained in depth experience in the manufacturing, distribution and marketing of key brands across multiple fashion apparel categories.
