Australian baby goods retailer Baby Bunting has expanded its footprint to New Zealand, opening a store in Albany Lifestyle Centre, in Auckland.

The 1700sqm large-format store sells a range of products for babies and toddlers, including car seats, prams, nursery furniture, toys, clothing and high chairs.

The business says it plans to open at least 10 stores in the country, with a second store set to open in Christchurch in the first half of next year.

To help fulfil online orders and support its future network plans, the company has established a 5000sqm warehouse in Auckland.

Michael Pane, Baby Bunting’s GM of operations, said the retailer has developed a “comprehensive retail model” operating as a family business for more than 40 years.

“Baby Bunting is a destination shop and we have developed a format that works well in bulky goods centres as well as mall-style shopping centres.”
