Signage is going up on New World Te Atatu, marking the latest stage in the nearly completed $50 million development.

On a site bought by Foodstuffs North Island in July 2023, the more than 3300sqm store is set to serve 15,000 residents in the area.

It will also bring around 90 new jobs to the area, Foodstuffs said.

“With the building now weathertight, our teams are moving at pace on the internal fit-out. This is the stage where the store really starts to come together,” Nick Hanson, head of property at Foodstuffs North Island, said.

“We know the community has been waiting for a new supermarket, and our focus is on keeping everything on track so we can open the doors as soon as possible.”

Foodstuffs said it will announce the owner-operator for the store shortly, ahead of the final fit-out and commissioning stages.
