Kathmandu is now the official apparel partner of the New Zealand Team.

The New Zealand team will debut a new kit at the next Olympic and Commonwealth Games, thanks to a new partnership with outdoor apparel brand Kathmandu.

The four-year deal will see Kathmandu provide training, village kit, and uniforms for opening, closing, and podium ceremonies.

“Both organisations are deeply committed to performance, quality, innovation, and share deep roots in Aotearoa New Zealand,” said New Zealand Olympic Committee CEO Nicki Nicol.

“Our product team has a long history of pushing industry boundaries – particularly regarding sustainability and innovation,” said Kathmandu CEO Megan Welch.

“Now we’re creating world-leading, high-performance garments using fabrics made with recycled car tyres and captured carbon emissions.”

The New Zealand Team’s first Kathmandu-designed kit will be revealed at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026, followed by unveilings at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Last November, KMD Brands said that Kathmandu’s sales slid 2.7 per cent as its New Zealand direct-to-consumer sales plummeted 15.4 per cent while Australia DTC sales grew 4.3 per cent.
