Kiwi fashion designer Kate Sylvester is shutting down her fashion label in the middle of next year, after more than three decades in the business.

“After 31 great years, Wayne Conway and Kate Sylvester have decided that it is time to bow out,” Conway and Sylvester said in a joint statement on social media.

“Since the day we opened the doors on that first store in Kitchener Street (Auckland), we have worked incredibly hard for three decades. And now we need to move on to a new chapter in our lives.”

The founders thanked their customers for their support over the years.

“We believe in the talent of the new generation of New Zealand designers – it’s your time to shine now,” Conway and Sylvester said.
