Home InStyle: A stunning world of trendy home products sourcing

Homewares and textiles trends change every year, so where can retailers and buyers be sure they can identify the latest popular fabrics and styles tailored to global consumers?

Home InStyle 2024 – Asia’s premium homewares and textiles all-in-one sourcing event in Hong Kong – is the obvious choice.

Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Home InStyle will feature more than 1700 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, enabling both exhibitors and buyers to explore the latest houseware trends and source smart and unique home designs and products.

The event will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 20 to 23. From this year, the Hong Kong International HomeTextiles and Furnishings Fair will be merged into Home InStyle to help the industry stay on top of market trends and offer a more comprehensive sourcing platform.

“The rebranded business event will spark connection and inspiration for design and lifestyle community,” a Home InStyle spokesman told Inside Retail.  “We aim to provide an ideal platform for exhibitors to showcase their latest products while facilitating networking and collaboration among traders.”

Highlights of the exhibitor lineup include overseas pavilions from Japan, Thailand, Taiwan and Mainland China curating regional houseware products in Hong Kong. Japanese prefectures Ibaraki, Aomori and Yamagata will house displays from their regions, including traditional handicrafts such as kiln, pottery and wood lacquer. The Taiwan Pavilion will show off products that won the CET Best Awards, Golden Pin Design Award and Taiwan Excellence recognition. The Thailand Pavilion will be curated by the Thai Houseware Trade Association.

Design always inspires and the renowned Hall of Elegance at Home InStyle will feature sought-after designer collections and brands including Hong Kong’s Topchoice, Ucome, Amercook and AmVegan from Mainland China, and Taiwan’s Azuda. Local Hong Kong design forces including The Lanes, The Swinging Sticks and AEFolio have collaborated to curate what the organisers promise will be a “unique journey for visitors” to the event.

Another feature of the event not to be missed is the Cultural & Creative Corner which will feature more than 50 exhibitors. Its focus is on engaging international design multipliers and designer brands inspired by various design concepts and cultural uniqueness.

Pantone will be Home InStyle’s ‘colour partner’ sharing insights into colour trends around the world and the art-book publisher Taschen will set up a lifestyle library in the area.

Overseas multipliers participating in Home InStyle include the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions from the Philippines, the Organisation for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation from Japan, and the Industrial Design Development Association of Taiwan. All will highlight signature regional houseware designs.

As well as the extensive range of exhibitor displays, Home InStyle will feature seminars hosted by industry experts, who will share insights on areas key to the sector’s development, such as sustainability, creative thinking and the burgeoning silver economy. Interactive demonstration sessions will allow visitors to have a first-hand experience of creative homewares and textile techniques.

“We will deliver an array of events throughout the event to keep visitors abreast of the latest market information and encourage the fostering of connections between exhibitors and buyers,” the event spokesperson said.

“By serving as a one-stop sourcing platform, Home InStyle will offer exceptional business opportunities and cater to the needs of buyers of a diverse selection of household items.”

Introducing Exhibition+

Home InStyle will again adopt the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Exhibition+ hybrid model. This concept comprises four key exhibition elements: The HKTDC-organised physical fairs, the smart business-matching platform Click2Match, online-to-offline seminars under the Intelligence Hub, and the HKTDC.com Sourcing platform. Together they will provide around-the-clock services that boost the flexibility and effectiveness of business promotion for SMEs.

The benefits of Exhibition+ include extended fair periods, expanded platforms and enhanced opportunities for exhibitors and visitors. Seamlessly progressing face-to-face interactions from physical exhibitions to an online smart business-matching platform helps enterprises proactively connect with business partners.

Home InStyle is one of a series of six creative events in Hong Kong organised by the HKTDC under the April Lifestyle Products Fairs banner. Others showcase fashion, lifestyle products and licensing.
