New Zealand’s largest wholesaler of adult toys and sexual health goods, Wholesale Solutions, is rapidly expanding into Australia.
After nearly 20 years in business in New Zealand, Wholesale Solutions first exported its products to Australia in 2021, and sales are up 50 per cent after only two years in the region.
Wholesale Solutions is the sole global distributor of Share Satisfaction, a New Zealand luxury toy and sexual health brand that debuted in 2019 and has since become one of the country’s fastest-growing adult companies.
“Australians and New Zealanders have a lot of things in common – not least that we’re both massive buyers of sex toys and related products. I’ve always heard that anecdotally from international brands, and now it’s bearing out in the data too,” says Wholesale Solutions director, Craig Relph.
“In places like Victoria and New South Wales, we’re seeing a whole load of retail stores that are totally stripping back what you’d expect of an adult store. The whole look is far less aggressive and more like a ‘normal’ shop, which is far more in line with our ethos of normalising sex and pleasure.”
Wholesale Solutions is headquartered in the northern suburbs of Wellington.
The global sex toy industry, according to the brand, is predicted to reach USD$62.32 billion (NZ$105 billion) by 2030, with the Asia-Pacific region expected to be the fastest-growing market during this time period. Australia, along with China, will be one of the main revenue sources.
