Resource consent has been approved to subdivide land in Drury, South Auckland to develop a commercial retail centre.

Resource consent is required from a local council when an activity might affect the environment or people in an area – and was in this case fast-tracked.

Kiwi Property Holdings applied for resource consent to divide land bordered by Fitzgerald, Flanagan and Brookfield Roads in Drury.

It also includes resource consent for car parking, the development of open space reserves, road infrastructure and upgrades to transport lines.

The decision was approved by an independent panel under the Covid-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.

The judgment was provided 129 days after the application was lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority.
