Single Use Ain’t Sexy acquired by US travel amenities brand

Australian sustainable personal care brand Single Use Ain’t Sexy has been acquired by global travel amenities company Buzz for an undisclosed sum.

The sale means Single Use Ain’t Sexy will now focus on the wholesale travel market and cease operating as a direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand in Australia.

Buzz, meanwhile, says it aims to expand its global product portfolio focusing on refillable solutions.

By the end of this year, Buzz aims to supply large format and refillable amenities to more than 50,000 hotel rooms globally for brands such as Hilton, Marriott, MGM Resorts, Atlantis, SLS, Jackalope and Belmond.

Buzz founder and MD, Barry Gold, said the brand is a “proud first mover” against waste and is “delighted” to welcome Single Use Ain’t Sexy to the business.

Brand founder & CEO Josh Howard will take up an international role in the Buzz team and help scale its sustainable portfolio across a network of global travel partners.

“I am motivated by impact and this partnership with Buzz gives us the platform to affect much larger change together,” said Howard.

“The sheer scale of their global operations means we will save more single-use plastic bottles from landfill with just one hotel partnership than we could achieve alone.”
