Online marketplace GrabOne has launched a social initiative to help small businesses affected by recent flooding and cyclone resume operations in the North Island.

Dubbed ‘Businesses in Need’ the campaign helps local businesses by providing immediate funds with customers committing to a straight donation or the option of redeeming the product or service at a later date.

The company will also provide affected businesses with a complimentary listing and a free advertising package across its extensive network.

Belinda Lush, GrabOne’s chief customer officer and NZ country manager, said customers will be helping local businesses get back on their feet while simultaneously benefiting from great deals.

“Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities, and it’s only right we support them in the immediate and the future.

“In the aftermath of the recent flooding and Cyclone Gabrielle, our hearts go out to all those who have suffered losses and are now on a long road to recovery,” said Lush.
