Outdoor apparel and equipment brand The North Face has opened its first standalone outlet store in Onehunga, Auckland.

The new 139sqm outlet is located within the Dressmart Outlet Shopping Centre, selling a range of products across categories including skiing, hiking and boarding as well as waterproof gear and luggage.

Paul Karis, GM at The North Face ANZ, said: “After many years of sharing an outlet space with other lifestyle and fashion brands in Dressmart Onehunga, we now have a brand new, dedicated outlet for The North Face.”

The shop’s overall layout is made with unique shapes formed by wooden slats inspired by the Kangchenjunga mountain range in the eastern Himalayas.

The wood materials used here were sustainably sourced from the Kerikeri region north of Auckland.

The company says the store will act as a “launching point” for locals to convene for expeditions into the surrounding regions.

In July, the brand also launched the Explore Fund – a program designed to boost equity in the outdoor industry – in Australia and New Zealand.
