Homewares and sports goods retailer Briscoe Group says sales increased in its third quarter, and it remains optimistic about the level of full-year profit.
In a trading update of unaudited accounts, the group said sales increased by 26.76 per cent to $175.5 million while online sales performed strongly, contributing 18.25 per cent to group sales.
By segment, homeware sales were up by 23.2 per cent to $107.7 million followed by its Rebel Sport sporting goods chain which achieved sales of $67.8 million, up 32.8 per cent.
Group MD, Rod Duke, said the “significant lift” in sales on the back of ongoing economic pressures is a “great achievement” for the brand.
“This year has seen a gradual deterioration in economic factors including ongoing supply chain disruption and cost increases, a weaker New Zealand dollar and declining consumer confidence as a result of the significant cost of living increases.
“As we commence this year’s crucial fourth quarter, we remain optimistic of producing a full-year net profit after tax ahead of last year’s $87.91 million.”
