Barker’s has opened its first-ever Foodstore and Eatery cafe in Melbourne. The New Zealand FMCG label is well-known for its jams, chutneys, sauces, and fruit compotes.

Located beneath its head office in Victoria, the company says Foodstore and Eatery aims to showcase the quality and flavour of New Zealand to the local community through “simple yet delicious” meals.

Launched in 2019, the brand’s first retail store in Geraldine, Queenstown, was initially designed to commemorate its 50th year and has now become a tourist destination in the small town. Its success, says the company, inspired the vision of a store in Melbourne to create greater brand awareness in Australia.

The Melbourne store features a dine-in and takeaway cafe that will serve breakfast and lunch dishes, sandwiches, pastries, and cakes.

In addition, it also serves as a retail store where customers can purchase a wide range of products, including meal sauces, 1kg compotes, super fruit crushes, immunity gels, immunity shots, and classic syrups.

“Our aim is to introduce customers and visitors to our products by integrating them into our eatery menu and demonstrating how they can use them at home or in their hospitality business, says Nicky Donker, corporate commercial director of Barker’s.
