Hong Kong-based travel retailer DFS Group is to launch its latest T Galleria New Zealand store in the heart of Queenstown on October 29.

T Galleria Queenstown will mark DFS’s third location in the country after the Custom House heritage building in downtown Auckland and at Auckland Airport. The two-level store will take over a 1800sqm retail space inside the O’Connells building, boasting a portfolio of more than 120 brands, ranging from Dior Beauty, La Mer, and Ralph Lauren to local brands, such as Manuka South, Welmark and Antipodes. The group said more brands will be announced including nearly 40 brands that are exclusively available at T Galleria by DFS, Queenstown.

T Galleria Queenstown’s offerings will feature a curated assortment of fashion and accessories, beauty, wines, food, gifts, and watches and jewellery. The retail store will also be the first store of DFS’ new ‘Resort Galleria’ concept, which “emphasises an authentic sense of place and community”. The company said natural and sustainable locally sourced materials were used for the store design to create “an open and airy design with an informal yet elegant feel”.

DFS opened its first T Galleria in Auckland in 2018 and has since continued to grow both inside and outside the market. In July, the business declared that it had won the “tightly-contested” proposal to manage the clothing, jewellery, and watch concession at China’s Chongqing Jiangbei Airport for five years.
