Faradays confirms luxury offline store will open this week

Luxury fashion retailer, Faradays, has brought forward its plans to open its first brick-and-mortar in Auckland this week, a month since its online launch

Spanning 550sqm, the Faradays flagship is nestled inside The Textile Building, a heritage-listed 1920s warehouse on Faraday Street, in Parnell’s elegant designer precinct. It will open this Thursday (November 11).

Designed by Cheshire Architects, the store also houses an in-house florist, an art gallery, and a wine bar, although that will not be opened until social-distancing restrictions are eased. The store features 4m stud ceilings and original, exposed timber beams, using stone, marble and brass.

Faradays Parnell will be home to a range of items from famous designers and luxury brands, including Givenchy, Loewe, Christian Louboutin, Alexandre Vauthier, and Giuseppe Zanotti.

In addition, Kiwi shoppers can also access to a non-fashion premium range, such as tableware, gifts and soft furnishings from Ginori 1735, Stories of Italy and Saved NY; artworks from Gow Langsford Gallery; florals from Grace + Flora and Emma Lewisham Skincare.

The luxury retail concept was founded Edward and Constance von Dadelszen during the country’s first lockdown with vision to signifies a pivotal moment for luxury retail in New Zealand.

“We wanted Faradays to house the most thoughtful yet expansive edit from some of the world’s most revered heritage designers, alongside beautiful artisan brands that have, until now, been largely undiscovered – all within the most welcoming, enveloping, and magical space,” said Constance.

“And while our open date has been bookended by another lockdown, I don’t believe we could be opening our doors at a better moment.

“With the recent addition of Louboutin to our Faradays family, and soon to come, the arrival of Alaia for the first time in Australasia, this is not only an experience we will remember forever, but in this particular moment in time, an exciting and very welcome celebration for the return of Auckland retail.”
