Here’s why everyone is talking about garment workers in Bangladesh

A fierce debate over the best way to protect garment workers is playing out between trade unions and factories in Bangladesh, as the landmark Bangladesh Accord on Fire and Building Safety nears its expiration date. Global trade unions IndustriALL and UNI Global have announced plans to pull out of the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC), the organisation that is responsible for key aspects of the Accord, such as factory inspections and worker safety training, because its policies won’t be legally
