Westfield launches drive-through click and collect service across NZ

Retail landlord Scentre Group has rolled out a new contactless drive-through service across its New Zealand Westfield Living Centres.

The new Westfield Direct service allows customers to purchase products online from multiple Westfield retailers in one transaction and pick them up from the convenience of their car through a contactless drive-through location at their local centre.

The retailers available on Westfield Direct at launch are skewed towards the hospitality sector, including Inca by Nic Watt, Presshouse Café, Boba Bear, Hulucat Tea & Mocktail, Tai Ping, Tank, The Coffee Club, The Botanist Florist to name a few. More retailers from other categories are said to be joining over the coming weeks.

Phil McAveety, Scentre Group’s director for customer experience, said the company fast-tracked the innovation to provide customers a safe and easy solution to shop the items they need in one transaction from the comfort of their home.

“In these challenging times, we understand more than ever the need to be agile and respond to the fast-changing environment to continue to meet the everyday needs of our customers,” McAveety said.

McAveety said hot food is ordered separately to ensure food safety.

Westfield Direct is now available on the shopping centre owner’s website.
