The Warehouse names new Future Director participant

NZ retail giant The Warehouse Group has appointed Renee Mateparae as the company’s latest participant in the Future Director programme run by the New Zealand Institute of Directors.

Mateparae, who is currently the Tribe lead for Future Connectivity at Spark NZ, has played a key leadership role in the organisation’s transition to agile.

Prior to this role, she was with Air New Zealand and the Macquarie Group.

The Warehouse chair Joan Withers said with Mateparae’s career credentials that have included a variety of challenges and opportunities internationally and locally, her significant experience in strategy, digital and disruptive technologies and her focus on the end-to-end customer experience, will enable her to provide a fresh perspective to the company board discussions on a variety of emerging issues.

“We look forward to the contribution she will make to the company and as a board we are delighted that we have the opportunity to assist in increasing the availability of candidates in New Zealand ready for director appointments,” Withers said.

The Warehouse said Vena Crawley participated in this initiative in the last financial year and his contribution was highly valued by the directors.

Mateparae will attend the first board meeting on August 22 and her appointment will continue through to the 2020 Annual Meeting.
