The Warehouse launches design competition

the warehouse shopping bagThe Warehouse has launched its annual shopping bag design competition with the winning design to be featured on its reusable shopping bags.

The bags with the new design will be available starting next year and 20 cents from every purchase will go towards The Warehouse local neighbourhood community organisations, as part of its Bags for Good programme.

Paul Walsh, The Warehouse executive GM for Community and Environment, said last year, sales from their reusable bags contributed over $11,500 toward local neighbourhood community organisations throughout New Zealand.

“The fantastic designs that come through as part of the competition play a big part in this, and are a great motivation for shoppers to opt for reusable bags at the counter,” Walsh said.

Participants of the competition need to come up with a design that captures an eco-friendly view of New Zealand and inspires more shoppers to embrace reusable bags.

The winner will have their design featured on thousands of reusable shopping bags to be sold in all 92 The Warehouse stores.
