Meredith & Moore in voluntary administration

Meredith & MooreWomen fashion retailer, Meredith & Moore, has been placed in voluntary administration but continues to trade.

The Melbourne-based apparel company, which operates an online store, 16 retail stores and three outlet stores across New Zealand and Australia, was placed into voluntary administration by PBB Advisory.

According to the PBB Advisory website, David Webb, Daniel Walley and Alan Walker have been appointed voluntary administrators to the two related New Zealand companies, Meredith N.Z. Limited, and Meredith Fashion Group (NZ) Limited.

According to the announcement, the business continues to trade while the administrators, “undertake a review of the business, working closely with its management team and stakeholders to assess the current position of the company and identify opportunities to restructure the business for the future.”

The first meeting of creditors will be on April 8 at the offices of PBB Advisory in Auckland.

The brand has run several sale promotions following the holiday season, including a 70 per cent off on some of its stocks. The most recent sale, which the company has posted on their website, includes discounting their stocks up to 50 per cent.

Meredith & Moore was founded in 1962 as Meredith, a fashion and lifestyle brand, which specialised in women’s knitwear, jackets and coats.
