According to Colliers International and featured in the Nelson Mail, Nelson shopping centre Morrison Square is on the market.

The 28-store centre in central Nelson, which houses a variety of retail and food outlets, is for sale by private treaty by December 4.

The Nelson Farmers’ Market is held at Morrison Square every Wednesday from 1100 to 1600. Consumers have the opportunity to buy fresh, nutritious and locally grown produce directly from their growers at this market.

Colliers International sales and leasing director, Nelson Tony Gowans, said the centre has some vacant areas which could add value with active lease management. He said the lease terms are currently staggered.

He said the sale was a good opportunity to capitalise on the region’s economic and population growth.

Colliers International capital markets director for Auckland, Jason Seymour, said he expects strong interest from capital buyers because of its location in Nelson’s retail hub.
