Eftpos NZ upgrades

Eftpos NZ, cards, payments, POSEftpos New Zealand has migrated its Dial POS network to Transaction Network Services (TNS).

The agreement enables Eftpos NZ, which was acquired by Verifone in 2013, to support the changing technology mix for payment acceptance in NZ and more quickly rollout its next generation of payment technologies.

Eftpos NZ’s payments infrastructure handles almost 100 million transactions a year from 35,000 merchants.

Peter Hansen, GM at Eftpos NZ, said TNS is a resilient, managed payment network service.

“The switch has been exceptionally easy for us thanks to the talented team at TNS who has exceeded our expectations at every turn. The level of onsite support has been a huge benefit and ensured the move went as seamlessly as possible within the time frame we agreed,” said Hansen.

“The TNS network solution has also provided a range of additional functionality which we did not have before, adding monitoring and management capabilities to give us visibility and troubleshooting tools to manage to the edge of our fleet.”

Network data generated by the TNS technology is fed directly into Eftpos NZ’s helpdesk operation, enabling it to monitor its infrastructure and take action if needed.

The TNS Managed Dial Network Service can handle transaction traffic, including credit and debit cards, pre-paid mobile top ups, gaming, alarms, inventory control, order entry, and other transaction orientated applications.
