New board for Newmarket

 

Newmarket Bus association logoThe Newmarket Business Association has appointed a new board at its Annual General Meeting on September 25, 2014.

The meeting was attended by Newmarket retailers, business owners and landlords and was held at the Opera Factory in Eden Street.

Annie Inwood, Auckland Council representative, and Pippa Coomb, Waitemata local board representative, also attended.

Mark Knoff-Thomas, Newmarket Business Association CEO, said the AGM was upfront and transparent, with some great discussion from attendees.

“The great thing about the business people of Newmarket is that they care, they are passionate and are invested – in every sense – in what goes on in this precinct,” he said.

An election took place as there were nine nominees for eight positions.

Knoff-Thomas said he is excited to be working with the new board, and continuing to work with the six members who were re-elected.

The Newmarket Business Association Board is Greg Holland of Greg Holland Jewellery, Joanna Legat of Isabel Harris,  Stephanie Murray of Westpac,  James Nelson of Scentre Group, Megan Sadgrove of Smith & Caughey, Bridget Smith of Swarbrick Beck Mackinnon, Carl Sowter of Marley Loft, and Ryan Watkins of Grabone.

Former board members Chris Snell of Workshop and Regan Hall from Creative People did not stand for re-election.
