Super Liquor Holdings has appointed Morgan McCann as its new CEO, effective June 17.

McCann joins the national liquor retail franchise from Mico New Zealand, a division of Fletcher Building, where he was GM, overseeing a network of 70 outlets, two distribution centres, and 520 employees.

Before Fletcher, he worked for the Foodstuffs cooperative for more than ten years in different leadership roles. He also served as head of New World, where he was in charge of the brand’s market and operational performance in 106 independently owned stores.

McCann began his Foodstuffs career as national retail manager at Liquorland and previously worked as merchandise and marketing manager at Lion Liquor Retail for five years.

“I’m delighted to be returning to the liquor retail sector, and the opportunity to lead a large New Zealand franchise business in Super Liquor – with franchisees that are passionate about what they do, a brand with strong heritage and the ability to drive positive outcomes in a very dynamic market,” said McCann.

Super Liquor is a national retail liquor business with bottle stores throughout New Zealand, from Kaitaia to Invercargill. Each store is a locally owned and operated business as part of a franchise agreement with the company.
