Gap’s Banana Republic ventures into homewares and furniture

Gap’s lifestyle brand Banana Republic has forayed into the homewares and furniture category, launching BR Home Collection.

Banana Republic’s home collection, following the brand’s home textile categories launched earlier this year, varies from bedroom, living room, and dining room furniture to lighting and home decor. The company said the materials are sourced and created by skilled global artisans.

“At Banana Republic, we are driven by a desire for discovery and self-expression, representing a new way to outfit yourself and your home,” said Sandra Stangl, president and CEO at Banana Republic.

The BR Home Collection consists of three key expressions – Textured Modern, Classic Chic and Explore. The launch features six sub-collections – Stinson Collection, Marquis and Savannah Collections, Atlas Moroccan Rugs Collection, Phoenix Collection, and Nova Collection.

Banana Republic’s homewares and furniture products will be available online and at select US stores by the end of this month, including two new BR Home pop-up experiences in NYC and LA.

“This dynamic collection celebrates the beauty of high-quality natural materials and skilled artisans, creatives, and those designers whose work reflects our brand values and allows us to support craftsmanship communities around the world,” said Aaron Rose, chief commerce and experience officer for Banana Republic.

Statista estimates the home decor market in the US to reach $202 billion by 2024, surging 20 per cent compared to pre-Covid levels.
