Ethique founder Brianne West steps down as CEO

The founder of New Zealand-based lifestyle brand Ethique, Brianne West, has stepped down as CEO after 11 years in the role.

West who founded the company in her kitchen in Christchurch in 2012, has created a range of plastic-free hair, face, home and body-care products.

The company’s sustainable products are currently sold by 8000 retailers across 22 markets worldwide.

“While my role as CEO may be ending, my connection to Ethique remains strong. I will continue to serve as founder part-time and as a board member, supporting the company’s growth and championing our shared values,” said West on LinkedIn.

To help Kiwi social enterprises, she has launched a new support initiative for enterprises – Business, but Better – to help reduce the failure rate among New Zealand startups.

The program offers a video resource on topics including branding, funding and exporting as well as mentoring and individual one-on-one sessions for entrepreneurs.
