Woolworths appoints director

Woolworths CountdownWoolworths has announced its intention to appoint Holly Kramer to the company’s board as a non-executive director in the first half of 2016.

Kramer was the CEO of Best & Less and prior to that she held executive roles at Pacific Brands and Telstra.

She is currently serving as a non-executive director of Australia Post, Nine Entertainment Corporation and AMP Limited.

Kramer has a BA with honours in economics and political science from Yale University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

In September, Woolworths announced two of its directors, Christine Cross and David Mackay, will not seek re-election at the company’s 2015 annual general meeting this month.

This comes at a time when anticipation abounds as to who will replace the current and soon to depart CEO Grant O’Brien who has aggrieved shareholders due to his structuring his departure to entitle him to $10,8 million in line with with full pension benefits.
