Hammerheads’ liquidation

hammerheadsAfter more than two decades in business, popular Auckland restaurant Hammerheads has had involuntary liquidation imposed on it by Inland Revenue.

The amount owed to the IRD by owners Janine Ann Baker, Douglas James Neesham and Paula Marie Sheahan has not been specified by liquidators Craig Sanson and Colin McCloy.

Hammerheads stopped trading in April prior to the court appointing liquidators. Earlier in the year the owners tried to sell the business, capitalising on its $2 million a year turnover. At the time it was thought that the restaurant might be losing ground to newly-established restaurants.

The new landlord, the Navy League charitable organisation, is working with Sanson to find a new tenant and a buyer for the company’s chattels.

Located on Tamaki Drive, Hammerheads afforded its customers a beautiful view of the waterfront and a luxurious dining experience.
