Warehouse pushes learning

study, education, training, work, learningThe Warehouse Group has opened a new purpose built retail learning facility, The Sir Stephen Tindall Learning Centre.

The centre aims to make retail a more popular and rewarding career choice for New Zealanders.

The Warehouse Group CEO, Mark Powell, said the group is committed to changing the perception of retail as a career and making it a desirable career choice.

“We’re well aware of the common misperception that retail is poorly paid, boring and not really a career, but we are leading our industry to change this negative and inaccurate reputation,” Powell said.

“Additionally, the front line in retail starts on the shop floor with enthusiastic and skilled team members and the competitive reality is that if customers aren’t served well, a business will ultimately fail.”

The centrehas the capacity to train up to 250 people at one time,  with linkable audio visual and wireless capability.

Training in the Sir Stephen Tindall Learning Centre will be available to team members from all of The Warehouse Group’s 23 brands.
