New Zealand retailers are banding together again to ensure that online spending remains on Kiwi soil.
The country’s annual online shopping event, Click Monday, takes place on September 15 and November 24, with Retail NZ and New Zealand Post supporting the event.
“Click Monday is here to grow sales for New Zealand retailers online, and we hope that by raising the profile of online shopping, more local businesses will see the opportunities that lie beyond New Zealand’s borders as well,” Cate Bryant, Click Monday spokeswoman, said.
Last year’s one day event in November attracted 83 retailers with more than 1200 offers, resulting in more than 300,000 clicks through to retailer’s sites and an estimated $2 million plus sales in the market.
“The offers were a big hit, with retailers selling as much as four to ten times their normal daily sales. It was an outstanding success by any measure,” Bryant said.
She commented that this year’s event days are expected to attract even more interest, with many large retailers already signed up and new retailers joining each day.
Partner Retail NZ is helping to market Click Monday to its members, and New Zealand Post is offering a 20 per cent discount on products and services tailored towards SMEs.
“We’re delighted that the broader industry is banding together to provide real value for both consumers and businesses online,” Bryant said.
