Lacoste has appointed Eric Vallat as its new CEO, effective September 1.

Vallat succeeds Thierry Guibert, who has led Lacoste since 2015. Guibert will remain in his broader roles as CEO of MF Brands Group and the Maus Freres Group, which owns Lacoste.

With more than 30 years of leadership experience in the fashion, luxury, and spirits sectors, Eric Vallat was most recently CEO of the Remy Cointreau Group.

His career also includes leading roles at Bonpoint and JM Weston, and heading the fashion and accessories division at the Richemont Group. Earlier in his career, Vallat held senior positions at LVMH, managing Louis Vuitton in Europe and Christian Dior Couture in Japan.

“His sharp expertise and proven experience will be major assets in continuing to unlock the brand’s full potential,” said Guibert.

“I’m confident that Eric Vallat will build on the momentum we’ve created, with the same high standards and collective spirit, and guide Lacoste into a new chapter of growth, true to its identity while continuing to move confidently forward.”

In April, Lacoste expanded its retail footprint with a flagship store spanning 10,000sqft on New York’s Fifth Avenue.
