Lifestyle brand Wallace Cotton will open a new store in Dunedin this September, continuing its national retail expansion amid sustained customer demand and a growing focus on physical retail.
The store will be located at 197 George Street, part of Dunedin’s central shopping precinct. It is currently undergoing upgrades that integrate heritage design with Kāi Tahu cultural elements. It follows recent store openings in Queenstown, Te Aro (Wellington), and Mount Maunganui, as the company expands its presence in key regional centres across New Zealand.
CEO Damian Dobb said the Dunedin store reflects both the brand’s growth strategy and its aim to build stronger local connections through in-person retail.
“The opening of our stores in Queenstown, Te Aro in Wellington and Mount Maunganui over the past 18 months has reinforced our confidence in expanding into new regions,” Dobb said.
“Each location has taught us the value of creating retail spaces that reflect their unique local character, and we want to resonate with the way people shop in each place.”
Wallace Cotton, known for its bedding, homewares, sleepwear, and growing daywear range, continues to report consistent demand.
