Farmlands partners with Barkers on rural clothing range

Farmlands has collaborated with clothing retailer Barkers to launch an exclusive casual clothes line in 42 Farmlands locations and online.

The ‘1972’ collection, which includes merino knitwear, sturdy outerwear, and classic shirts, honours Barker’s 50-year heritage of producing high-quality menswear.

According to Barker’s CEO, Glenn Cracknell, this apparel line is designed for the country lifestyle while retaining high standards of durability and style.

The 1972 collection joins Farmlands’ increasing inventory of unique products and brands, which currently includes agri-chemicals, animal feed, workwear, and rural supplies.

“By expanding our range of exclusive products across more key categories, Farmlands is providing greater choice, new products that can’t be accessed anywhere else, and better prices to customers,” said Farmlands CEO Tanya Houghton.

In addition, the companies indicated that sales in the first week were particularly robust, with about 1000 items sold. The classic Barkers trackpants have been the top sellers.

In 2022, Farmlands opened a new location in Ashburton, built as a ‘test and learn’ store concept.
