The Fat Duck has been named the champion at the 2025 Estrella Damm Top 50 New Zealand Gastropubs Awards.

The event recognised the pub for its “outstanding” culinary offerings and service, as well as the commitment to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

“To be recognised at this level, among so many outstanding venues, is something we’re incredibly proud of,” said co-owner Cam Davies.

“It’s a win not just for us, but for our local producers, our community, and everyone who walks through our doors.”

According to Hospitality New Zealand CEO Steve Armitage, the awards continue to highlight the excellent quality of gastropubs across Aotearoa and their important role in the industry.

The Top 50 list represents the strength of the industry and serves as a valuable guide for Kiwis and visitors to experience the very best in Kiwi food-led hospitality, he added.

Other winners include Franklins Bar & Eatery for the Upper North Island area, Thistle Inn for Lower North Island, and Strawberry Tree and Kaikoura for Upper South Island.
