Kogan has appointed Robert McEwan as MD of its Mighty Ape New Zealand subsidiary and said it had completed the upgrade of the marketplace platform during the first half.
McEwan is currently the GM of operations and customer service of Mighty Ape and his appointment follows Daniel Balasoglou’s resignation as CEO of the business.
During the first half, Mighty Ape’s New Zealand subsidiary generated revenue of NZ$81.9 million, a figure lower than expected and due to the impact of technical issues during the website’s upgrade in late October.
Meanwhile, Kogan Group’s revenue rose 9.9 per cent to $302.1 million while attributable net profit grew 19 per cent to $11.4 million.
“Having returned the company to profitability in FY24, I’m pleased to report today that we have built on that momentum and returned the business to strong sales growth in 1HFY25,” said Ruslan Kogan, Kogan founder and CEO.
According to its trading update, Kogan’s group gross sales soared 24.9 per cent to $89.1 million with Kogan.com’s gross sales surging 30.8 per cent to $78.4 million and Mighty Ape’s gross sales sliding 6.6 per cent to $10.6 million.
