Kmart will open a store at Auckland’s Westgate Town Centre in 2026, taking its store count in the country to 28.
The new 6700sqm store will be the third Kmart in New Zealand to trade 24 hours – and the largest in the country.
“As New Zealanders continue to face rising household costs, providing access to great value products at the lowest prices has never been more important to our customers,” said John Gualtieri, CEO of Kmart Australia and New Zealand.
“We have consistently received community feedback asking for a Kmart in Westgate, and we are thrilled to finally deliver on that promise,” said Mark Gunton, chairman of NZ Retail Property Group, the owner of Westgate Town Centre.
The new Kmart store is expected to employ over 240 local community members.
