An immersive entertainment venue called The Oasis has opened in Christchurch, combining virtual reality, mini-golf, and a massive arcade.

The attraction which received widespread appreciation after a pilot pop-up last year has found a permanent place in The Palms Shopping Centre.

Founded by James and his wife Laura Astrop, the couple built it after consultation with friends, family and other industry contacts to identify what was ‘missing’ in the Christchurch entertainment scene.

Keryn Ward, centre manager at The Palms Shopping Centre said the new attraction will have a genuine appeal for all age groups.

“With incredible theming throughout, they are all about creating great experiences, be it with their virtual reality games, dark ride experience or the excellent indoor golf course (partly glows in the dark). It is a great spot to celebrate a birthday party or hold a corporate event,” said Ward.

You can view a ‘fly-through’ video of Oasis here.

The Oasis is located underneath Reading Cinemas within the centre.
