The global pandemic led us to the most innovative period in the history of marketing.  We saw 10 years of change in a few weeks; digital’s share of retail shot up to 33 per cent, and online retail surged. From consumer behaviour to supply chains, disruption is real. 

Retailers who have been agile and innovative in their thinking are emerging in a stronger position for growth — and focussing on the post-pandemic customer.

The New Customer is driving change

The New Customer emerging post-pandemic is digital, unpredictable and easy to lose. 

Recent research from Adobe tells an intriguing customer behaviour story. In the last six months in Retail:

●  69 per cent have experienced unusual growth in digital visitors.

●  65 per cent have experienced unusual growth in new customers — compared with (46 per cent) for other sectors.

●  40 per cent have experienced unusual churn in existing customers.

Retail customers have already gone digital, and they’re not slowing down. If your customers are all going digital, shouldn’t you be?
