Chemist Warehouse eyes 30-store network

Chemist Warehouse is to launch its largest in-mall outlet yet at The Palms shopping centre – and says it aims to increase its store network to 30 later this year.

Scheduled to open in August or September, the new Chemist Warehouse store will span more than 1000sqm, marking the retailer’s largest store inside a shopping mall in New Zealand. Chemist Warehouse The Palms will house a range of fragrance, cosmetics, skincare, vitamins and supplements.

“Our free prescription offer will also be available at our The Palms store,” said Azman Haroon, CEO at Chemist Warehouse New Zealand. “New Zealanders will not be charged the $5 prescription fee. Since 2017, we have saved Kiwis over $15 million.”

The launch is part of Chemist Warehouse’s expansion plan in the country, with a target to reach 30 outlets later this year. The company currently operates 21 stores across New Zealand.

“We are keeping our promise to our locals and loyal customers to add new tenancies to the mix,” said Keryn Ward, centre manager at The Palms Shopping Centre.

“Chemist Warehouse will be a very popular addition, with a hugely sought-after retail range and free prescription service that makes it a real destination in every location.”
