The Brackenfields shopping centre in Amberley is now for sale with offers due by November 5.
The shopping precinct includes a 3564sqm Countdown supermarket.
“CBRE has been instructed to sell the land and buildings as a tenanted investment,” said Tim Rookes, MD at CBRE Christchurch. “We are not aware of any tenant movement within the centre.”
Rookes said there is an increasing demand for supermarket-anchored investments during Covid-19 as most tenants are providing essential services.
“We are seeing a real spike in owner-occupier enquiry, fuelled by low interest rates and the likelihood of negative interest. We have also seen the introduction of the service’ tag, which is seen as valuable as a government tenant,” he added.
“As such, expect Brackenfields to attract good national interest as supermarket-anchored investments are seldom available for purchase.”
Opened in 2014, the centre features a 5790sqm lettable area and fronts onto Carters Rd (State Highway 1), with access also off Amberley Beach Rd.
