New poll: How are your Christmas sales shaping up?

With Black Friday in the rear-view mirror, all eyes now are on the final three-and-a-half weeks before Christmas.

Last year, Paymark processed 120.7 million transactions in December, worth more than $6 billion, 2 per cent up on the previous year. But flat growth in the key Auckland and Northland regions, which account for more than 75 per cent of the country’s electronic transactions, kept the peak trading period relatively subdued.

Recent figures released by Statistics NZ show the value of total retail sales rose 4.2 per cent to $23.8 billion in the September quarter from the same period last year, indicating strong consumer sentiment in the lead-up to the 2019 holiday season.

So we’re curious to hear: How are your Christmas sales shaping up compared to last year? And is it just sales, or also profit that is growing? Vote in our latest poll below and share your thoughts in the comments!
