Starbucks coffee lands in NZ supermarkets

After striking a major partnership with Starbucks in 2018 to make the coffee giant’s packaged coffee products available in supermarkets, Nestle has launched a new range of Starbucks-filled coffee capsules in New Zealand.

The Starbucks by Nespresso range of coffee capsules are available online and in-store at New World, Pak’n Save, Countdown and SuperValue/Fresh Choice supermarkets nationwide, as well as on Amazon.

This marks the first time Kiwi consumers have been able to purchase Nespresso’s aluminium capsules at their local supermarket.

Martin Brown, director of e-business, strategy and marketing at Nestle Oceania, said the company was committed to evolving its offering to meet consumers’ changing lifestyles and tastes.

“We are proud to be working with Starbucks, a global coffee brand that shares our passion for quality coffee and craftsmanship. We are now offering coffee drinkers the premium experience at home with the Starbucks coffee they love,” he said in a statement.

The Starbucks by Nespresso range includes six signature flavours, including blends and single-origin coffees.
