H&M announces first Hamilton store

The new store will span approximately 1700sqm.

Fashion retailer H&M has announced the launch of a new store at Hamilton’s Chartwell Shopping Centre set to open on July 18.

The new store, which will span approximately 1700sqm, will be the retailer’s first in Hamilton and its seventh store in New Zealand and will feature apparel and accessories for men, women, youth, kids and baby.

“We are excited to be able to announce the opening date for our first Hamilton store,” said Daniel Lattemann, country sales manager for H&M New Zealand. “Chartwell Shopping Centre is a great location for H&M and we look forward to presenting a truly international shopping experience to customers in the area.”

H&M entered the New Zealand market in 2016. Today there are six stores nationwide located at Sylvia Park, Commercial Bay, and Botany Town Centre in Auckland, The Crossing in Christchurch, Queensgate in Wellington, and Tauranga Crossing.

Last month, the Swedish fashion giant reported that first-quarter results have exceeded expectations on both profit and margin, which it cited as proof that its turnaround strategy is working.
