Scentre Group CFO Mark Bloom to retire

WestfieldScentre Group’s CFO Mark Bloom will retire at the company’s annual general meeting in April 2019, following over 15 years of service with the shopping centre owner and previously the Westfield Group.

Scentre Group CEO Peter Allen personally thanked Bloom for contributing to the company’s performance since its formation in June 2014 and announced his successor, Elliott Rusanow, who is currently CFO of Westfield Corporation in the US.

Rusanow will be appointed CFO of Scentre Group in April.

“I am pleased that we have found someone of Elliott’s calibre, experience and particularly knowledge of our industry to ensure a seamless transition. I am looking forward to working with Elliott again, and to his contribution as CFO as we execute our strategy,” Allen said.

Operating under the Westfield shopping centre brand, Scentre Group owns and manages 41 shopping centres across Australia and New Zealand. Its retail real estate assets are valued at $53.4 billion and shopping centre ownership interests are valued at $38.4 billion, according to the company.

Bloom said he was proud to have played a role in the company’s success.

“As I retire from full time executive work I am especially proud of what I have been able to contribute to Scentre Group since its establishment. Scentre Group now has the highest quality portfolio of centres, has a highly engaged and energetic team, and is strategically well placed to succeed into the future,” he said.
