Auckland-based Laybuy has expanded beyond Asia Pacific to enable ‘buy now pay later’ purchasing in the UK.

Laybuy Global enables customers across New Zealand, Australia and the UK to purchase through the service and APAC businesses to trade in the UK.

“We’re really excited about the launch of Laybuy Global, and what this means for the future of online shopping, not only for our NZ customers shopping from Australian retailers (and vice versa), but also for our NZ and Australian retailers being able to provide this option to consumers in the UK,” Laybuy founder Gary Rohloff said.

“International customers can now shop with flexibility at local businesses right here in New Zealand, and for our merchants, it means the possibility of more  business from a larger market.”

The service allows customers to make a purchase online or in-store, but spread the cost out over six interest-free weekly payments. It is currently available at over 2700 online and physical stores.

Laybuy, founded in 2016 by Gary Rohloff and his son Alex, is based in Auckland, New Zealand.
