Whole Foods offers 30 minute online pickup

Wholefoods Port Chester NY copyAmazon Prime customers in the US are now able to pick-up groceries purchased online from selected Whole Foods Market stores within 30 minutes of making an order, without leaving their car.

The service is currently available in Sacramento and Virginia Beach, with more cities to be added throughout 2018.

Prime members place their order via the Prime Now app, choose the ‘pickup’ option at checkout, and can choose a free pickup in an hour, or pay an extra $4.99 to pick the order up in 30 minutes.

Customers park in a reserved pickup spot, and groceries will be placed into their car.

“Pick-up from Whole Foods Markets is a perfect option for customers who want to grab healthy and organic groceries at their convenience, all without leaving their car,” said Stephenie Landry, worldwide vice president of Prime Now, Amazon Fresh and Amazon Restaurants.

“For an even faster experience, customers can tell us they are on their way using the Prime Now app and groceries will be ready as they arrive.”

This option is similar to a feature of the recently opened “Woolworths 3.0” store in Racecourse Village, Ascot, where online shoppers use an app to alert the store that they are inbound and park in a designated area to have their online shopping put into their car.
