Kiwi breaks the ice at Sydney Airport

icebreakerNew Zealand outdoor apparel retailer, Icebreaker, has opened its first store in Australia at the Sydney International Airport.

Australian-owned and operated travel retailer, AWPL, has partnered with Icebreaker to open the Sydney Airport concept store.

“We are delighted to be the first airport in Australia to welcome Icebreaker to T1 International Departures, further bolstering our selection of global brands and offering our customers the opportunity to shop a great range of high-performance outdoor clothing,” said Glyn Williams, Sydney Airport general manager – Retail.

The Sydney Airport concept store will feature Icebreaker’s range of merino wool apparel, including socks, underwear, base layers, performance ski gear and stylish travel wear – all made from merino wool sourced from over 180 stations along New Zealand’s Southern Alps. The lightweight fabric breathes in hot weather and locks in heat during icy spells.

“We at AWPL are proud to further strengthen our relationship with Icebreaker – one of the world’s most wonderful brands”, said Costa Kouros, managing director of AWPL. “Our commitment to enhancing the customer experience at Sydney Airport is unwavering, and our Icebreaker concept is another step on that journey.”

The Icebreaker Sydney Airport concept store can be found in Sydney Airport T1 International Departures, near the Departure Gates.
