InStitchu opens up shop in Canberra

institchu1Made-to-measure suit retailer InStitchu has opened up a new showroom in Canberra’s CBD, representing the business’ first venture into the ACT market.

The shop, located at 2/54 Marcus Clarke Street, Canberra, is the retailer’s sixth location, with a store opened in New York last December.

“The significant corporate and political workforce in Canberra made it the obvious next step for InStitchu. The wedding industry in Canberra is drastically under-serviced, with 30 per cent of our wedding orders coming from customers based in the capital city,” said InStitchu co-founder, Robin McGowan.

“With so many people prepared to make the trip to our Sydney showroom, we felt that it was time for the businessmen and politicians to have their own local showroom, reclaiming their professional style with a convenient and affordable option for tailored suits.”

The company originally began trading through an online store in late 2011, offering a bespoke tailoring offer within an online environment before rolling out a myriad of physical showrooms.

Their locations now range across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Canberra and New York.

“Our research shows that once fitted in a showroom, the majority of customers will be happy to conduct all future orders online,” said co-founder James Wakefield.

“The modern man’s process for designing and buying suits is changing, and InStitchu is here to facilitate that change. We’re looking forward to helping more Aussie men own the suit of their dreams in more locations around the country.”
