Trade Me appoints new CFO

Trademe logoOnline marketplace, Trade Me, has appointed Caroline Rawlinson as its new chief financial officer.

Rawlinson, who will start at Trade Me at the beginning of August, said the role was an exciting new challenge for her.

“Trade Me is one of New Zealand’s most well-known and exciting businesses, with substantial opportunities in front of it — I’m looking forward to joining the team and getting stuck in,” she said.

Rawlinson is the CFO of Formica Asia (a division of Fletcher Building), a role she has held since October 2013. She was previously Fletcher Building’s general manager of strategy and corporate development, and has also worked at Sealord and PwC.

Trade Me CEO Jon Macdonald said he was very pleased Rawlinson was joining the Trade Me executive team.

“It’s great to have someone of such high calibre joining us,” Macdonald said. “We had the luxury of a very strong shortlist of candidates, but Caroline’s stellar career to date speaks to her unique intellect and drive, and I’m sure she’ll make a strong contribution here.”

Trade Me has entered into an agreement with Target Australia in February to offer Target clothing in New Zealand. Over 10,000 items of the brand’s range will be displayed through the NZ online marketplace platform.
